Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty (sometimes spelled labioplasty) is a plastic surgery procedure involving the labia, any of four folds of tissue of the vulva (female external genitalia). Labiaplasty may be performed for functional reasons, cosmetic reasons, or a combination of the two. The procedure often involves creation or reshaping of the labia. The procedure frequently is performed to reduce the size of the labia. Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure. After surgery, women may experience some mild discomfort and swelling, which usually lasts 1-2 weeks. Women who have a problem with large labia or asymmetric labia , now can have labiaplasty surgery to improve the appearance of the labia (labia minora), and correct irregularities.
